Breaking News, Death Counts, UFOs, Killer hornets, Toilet Paper Shortages, our people being murdered, Going down rabbit holes, Conspiracy theories, dealing with depression, anxiety, and insomnia is just about everything that is swirling around in my mind on any given day at any given moment. I am not unaware of the devastation happening in the world.
At the end of the day whether or not you think this a plandemic people are really going through it. I am a very empathetic person. I feel things very deeply. I won’t watch horror movies because I get too emotionally connected. I love “This Is Us” and cry at just about every single episode. When the lockdown started I lost my way. I became very depressed and just about everything was about finding out more information about all the corruption in the world. As a communications major who was involved with the Boston Youth organizing project for a brief while as a teen and also worked at a youth advocacy media company after college, I knew some things. I know to question things especially when it comes to media because theres not much diverse thoughts in the media because they are owned by the same types of people. So I looked to youtube and got sucked into a whirlwind of craziness, but I also got introduced to some really interesting forward thinking people.
However when Resurrection day happened I found God, I feel like I was always tuned in to God but I wasn’t on a clear station when I came to my relationship with God. Do you all remember radios? Do you remember when you could start to hear the station but there was a TON of static. Well thats how I felt about my relationship with God. I felt like I wasn’t totally dialed in. From 1st to 8th grade I attended a 7th day adventist school. I went to a methodist church every Sunday growing up with my mom and her church friends. I was a leader in my colleges gospel choir but it wasn’t until this past easter I felt this type of personal connection with God. I felt like God was rescuing me from the rabbit hole that I was digging myself into.
I felt God asking me to trust him. I felt the devastation of the world and God wanted me to lay my burdens down. They are not gone, they are just laying down. I needed to focus on what I could focus on. People are consuming media at an alarming rate. I was being bombarded with tons of negative things. I needed to cut through the noise. I needed to create space for my mind to be replenished. I needed to feel in control. What I do have immediate control over is my mind, my heart, my space and my actions. I get to choose what I give my attention to, and thats why I decided to start the 7 day love challenge.
Join the 7 Day Self Love Challenge
I created this as a way of escapism but also to pour back into people. A lot of the things our brains are consuming on a daily basis from watching so much tv, and being on line with so many ads can be harmful. I wanted to create the challenge to refocus my energy. Where energy flows energy goes. If you are like me and believe that we are all spirits having a human experience then you understand the power of getting spiritually aligned. Wanting to focus my energy on what I, Nicole, could do to help honor God, help pour into myself, isn’t harming humanity or mama earth. I am a spiritual person who believes God saves through our actions. We have to be activated while having faith and knowing God has your back. Also we have to come to terms with our mortality, while making the BEST use of the time we have on this earth. Everyday is a blessing.
